Can You Have a Personal Brand and Privacy?

#101: Can You Have a Personal Brand and Privacy?

Rebrand, my sixteen-week group coaching experience for photographers, is now enrolling. This program is for photographers who desire to offer brand photography so they can scale their income, work betters hours, and run a business that feels like them. “I’d love to have a personal brand…but I just value my privacy too much.”

I’ll admit, I was a little taken aback the first time someone said this to me.

My immediate thought was, ‘Well…so do I.’

This is a huge misconception when it comes to personal branding: that we can have a personal brand, or we can have privacy, but we can’t have both.

This is absolutely not true.

Rebrand is built on the premise that as a brand photographer, it is your job to show your clients that they have value in their brand. In order to be in a place where you can teach your clients that, you have to believe it about yourself. You have to walk the walk. You have to build your personal brand.

But when I say that, I’m not saying that you have to give up your privacy.

The most personal things in my life are my marriage, my children, and other relationships (family, friends). Those things are absolutely not a part of my brand, and I have no interest in changing that.

But I still have a personal brand. And you can too.

Inside Rebrand, developing your personal brand is at the core of everything we do. This isn’t just about the content you put on Instagram (though that can be a part of it). Your personal brand is built–or damaged–in every interaction and touchpoint you have with a client or potential client.

It’s affected by the ease (or difficulty) of your inquiry process.

It’s affected by the confidence you have (or don’t have) in a client discovery call.

It’s affected by the strategy you use (or don’t use) to put a session plan together.

It’s affected by how you make your client feel on their session day.

It’s affected by your process (or lack-there-of) after the session is over and you’re delivering their images.

These are all things we address in Rebrand so every touchpoint is set up to grow your personal brand AND bring you more clients in the form of referrals.

It’s not just about “showing up” on Instagram–but I’ll help you do that, too, in a way that feels authentic to you.

Rebrand is a 16-week group coaching experience is for established photographers who want to shoot brand photography, earn four figures+ per session, and work during the week with incredible clients who value and appreciate the asset your photos add to their business.

We start on October 11! Click here for all the details on Rebrand.
