Wine and Charcoal South Dakota Fall Wedding

First things first: you’re gonna wanna pin this wedding. I’ve helped you out with that with this handy little collage of gorgeousness.

Where do I begin? Katie and Collin’s wedding was a total breathe of fresh air. It was the most perfect fall day of all time, and there was so. much. love. These two are so head over heels for each other you can’t help but feel it, too. Katie and her friends and family thought of every single detail throughout the planning process and man, did it show. Can I just do October weddings for the rest of my life!?

The ceremony took place at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell, SD. This place is so beautiful. I’m not at all biased since it’s the church I grew up in – it’s truly beautiful. It made for the perfect backdrop on the first day of October.

We stole Katie away to the courtyard of the church to read her love letter from Collin. She read it out loud, and everyone had tears in their eyes – especially her sweet bridesmaids! Collin is such a good man – these two were made for each other.

He also surprised Katie with a gorgeous teardrop necklace to celebrate their wedding day! It perfectly complemented her dress and other details. And look at Katie’s face! So sweet!

We were lucky enough to find a stunning spot at Wild Oak Golf Course for Katie and Collin’s first look and portraits. I’ll say it a million times – if it’s at all possible to find a great, outdoor spot for your first look, do it! The colors were amazing and we were so lucky with the weather.

Anticipation.

I just love how they look at each other – and how he looks at her! A wedding photographer’s dream… they made my job so easy!

Some of my favorite shots from wedding days involve THE FLOWERS! I’m so obsessed with fresh blooms, and they photograph so beautifully. Katie’s bouquet was breathtaking. And I loved that her bridesmaids carried Babies Breath! So simple and sweet, and the colors were amazing against the wine colored bridesmaid dresses.

Collin and Katie’s fur kids joined us at photos and I basically died. I mean, what!? So cute! And so well behaved! My dog would have NOT cooperated like this…
