Overcoming Overwhelm in Business with Celeste Coffman

#43: Overcoming Overwhelm in Business with Celeste Coffman

Since starting my business, I have been amazed at how utterly overwhelming parts of business ownership can be, and I think a lot of us can feel this way. I have often found myself thinking that I need a therapist for my business, and that is why I was so fascinated to meet today’s podcast guest, Celeste Coffman.

Since starting my business, I have been amazed at how utterly overwhelming parts of business ownership can be, and I think a lot of us can feel this way. I have often found myself thinking that I need a therapist for my business, and that is why I was so fascinated to meet today’s podcast guest, Celeste Coffman.

Celeste is a licensed therapist and also a business coach, so she is a therapist for your business! Celeste and I had a great conversation on how she helps women in different ways to help them get past a scarcity mindset, imposter syndrome, to move forward in their business without constantly spinning your wheels, and more. She has some great takeaways you can start putting into action today!

Here are some of the things Celeste and I discussed:

  • How she got from working as a therapist to being a business coach
  • At what point women typically come and work with Celeste
  • How she helps women find calm amongst the chaos
  • Why business coaches can really help you in your business and offer another perspective + accountability
  • How Celeste helps her clients with overwhelm
  • To-do lists (and Celeste’s favorite app) and 80/20 mindset
  • Knowing when to hire someone for your business
  • Productivity platforms/tools that Celeste loves using and recommends

A few highlights from this episode:

[8:21] The foundational pieces of business are not the sexy part.

[8:47] – It’s those two minds coming together and the power of someone who really, really is listening to you totally objectively without any agenda, and that is therapy 101. That’s where I feel like people can really benefit if you’re not hearing the noise from others.

[12:04] – I find that we don’t always show up for ourselves, and so sometimes we will show up for someone else.

[13:22] – 1-to-1 coaching is definitely the thing that has moved my business forward the most of anything. You can take every $27 course out there and read every free blog post out there, but there is really something to be said for having someone else’s eyes on your business.

[32:17] It feels really good to take action for it but when it’s not focused action, it doesn’t matter. It’s almost not worth doing, and that’s where some of the overwhelm hits.

Celeste’s career and work experience really place her as an expert who is able to help women tackle overwhelm and really take steps forward in their business. I hope you enjoyed some of the tips she shared in today’s episode. If you are looking to connect with Celeste you can find her on social media @celestecoffmancoaching.

Celeste mentioned Trello as one of her favorite productivity tools. She has a great Trello freebie called the Trello Business Organizer Template + Video, which is a guide to help you organize all of your frequently-used links, documents, swipe, files and more in an hour or less. You can find that here.

She also has another great freebie called the Social Media Profile Fix, which quickly walks you through optimizing your social media profiles to grow your business. Check out the freebie here!
