As more and more of my friends welcome their first babies into the world, I’ve discovered a serious sweet spot for newborn sessions. There is just nothing like your first experience becoming parents. Everything is new and exciting … and messy, crazy, and exhausting. And so, so perfect.

Kelsey and Chase welcome baby Brooks in May, and I was lucky enough to get to spend some time with them in his first month at home. I was so excited to meet and snuggle this sweet baby boy, and ALMOST as excited to see his adorable nursery. Mama Kelsey has some serious talent! I’m a sucker for simple neutrals, and Kelsey hit it out of the park with this nursery.

The light was gorgeous as we worked around Brook’s naps to document his tiny newborn features. Lifestyle newborn sessions tend to take a bit longer because everything is on baby’s timeline, but it’s so worth the extra effort! They’ll never be this small again, and these photos are SO special.
